What You'll Do
Establishes and provides independent judgement, leadership and expertise for enterprise-scale Information Technology (IT) workstation and server infrastructure, including system administration, desktop architecture and administration, database administration, and enterprise storage management, enterprise network design and management, data center management, and network/security operations center management for all systems. Applies the appropriate leadership oversight to IT Infrastructure that supports the successful completion of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) mission for Pantex.
Employs the IT Service Management (ITSM)/IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and the capabilities of ServiceNow to support all aspects of the IT Service Lifecycle, including support for the Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes along with IT Service Continuity Management to assure efficient and effective IT Operations Management. Utilizes ITIL based metrics and Service Level Agreements to establish service excellence through system reliability and effective Incident and Problem management. Works closely with Cyber Security to ensure controls are in place for the protection of IT assets.
Primary duty is leading of a recognized department or subdivision thereof, and includes duties, such as: interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting pay and work hours; setting performance goals and evaluating progress toward those goals, recognizing or coaching employee performance as warranted; maintaining production or sales records; appraising employee productivity and grievances; disciplining employees, planning and apportioning work among employees.
Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more managers.
Must have the authority to participate in the process of hiring and firing other employees by making suggestions and recommendations thereto, which are given particular weight, meaning they must be made with reasonable degree of frequency, and then relied upon in the decision-making process.
Provides leadership and direction to the technical resources in the IT Infrastructure organization. Recruits and develops the technical talent required to support Server System Administration throughout the enterprise. Requires close collaboration with Cyber Security, IT Service Management, IT Project Management, and various IT Enterprise Applications. Applies comprehensive and advanced knowledge to the completion of complex assignments in the field of specialization. Applies advanced managerial as well as technical principles, theories, and concepts.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience. Minimum 3 years of relevant supervisory/management experience.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 20 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements
- Five years of supervisory/management experience. Candidates with less years of supervisory/management experience will be required to complete a developmental plan approved by the Division Director or their delegate.
- Demonstrated leadership of various IT disciplines, including System Administrators. Five (5) years direct management experience and/or leading (team lead / technical lead) IT organizational elements that are customer focused preferred. Two (2) years direct experience planning and leading large IT initiatives and client interactions.
- Desired skills are an ITIL V3 Foundation certification, experience with system consolidation efforts, and strong technical knowledge
- Experience in the oversight of designing, maintaining, and implementing system administration across the following infrastructures: Windows, UNIX, Oracle, VMWare, Citrix, Enterprise Storage, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
