Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the CIO Digital Solutions organization made up of business and process applications support. The Senior Manager will provide leadership to managers and professional staff in the Digital Solutions Organization to ensure mission and business goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Provide management and technical leadership for subordinate Digital Solutions managers and multiple, related teams with responsibility for selecting, maintaining, and growing the people, software, applications, platforms, and technical capabilities necessary to support the laboratory’s mission.
- Establish high standards, seek continuous improvement, and establish a culture of quality while creating the productive, positive work environment that enables the success of each team member.
- Manage resources and multi-million-dollar budgets, ensuring proper utilization, funding levels, and addressing constraints.
- Experience managing multiple service subcontractors for IT services.
- Organization will consist primarily of technical personnel providing digital services support for commercial off the shelf and custom developed applications and solutions for SRNL systems.
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach personnel at different levels of experience to meet growing needs as SRNL expands.
- Manage resources and execute tasks against project plans to maintain work scope and deliver commitments on schedule.
- Excellent communications skills are required. Interface with internal and external customers on technical issues, scopes of work, identifying requirements, setting priorities, and communicating progress.
- External customers and collaboration partners may be other DOE/NNSA sites/labs, academic institutions, or commercial industries.
- Interface with peers and upper management to proactively identify risks or potential bottlenecks and report progress.
- Ensure policy and procedure compliance.
- Set and document technical strategy working with technical team(s) and keep current.
- Document and contribute to the SRNL CIO organizational roadmap and ensure resources align to priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer-related field such as computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar and 7+ years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of relevant Senior Management experience
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is LegallyRequired
- Work experience should include prior leadership and senior management positions where multiple managers and staff were managed.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers and maintain effective relationships with DOE and NNSA Federal partners.
- Operational and technical leadership, strategic planning, management oversight, relationship building, decision making, and strong verbal and written communications.
- Demonstrated success in effective delegation, mentoring, and empowerment of direct reports and others.
- Demonstrated success with managing larger project implementations for an organization.
- Technical and strategic roadmap delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active DOE Q clearance
- FFRDC or DOE Experience
- Familiarity with government IT and cyber environments.
- Management of a digital solutions (or related) IT organization.
