Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a Records Coordinator to assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the SRNL Records Management program. This role will be responsible for adhering to records management policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with regulations, and is critical to ensuring the proper management, storage, and security of laboratory records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in records management, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and data integrity.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain physical and electronic records, ensuring accurate classification, filing, and indexing.
- Oversee the lifecycle of records from creation to final disposition.
- Maintain records management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local records management regulations.
- Implement and monitor access control measures to protect records and ensure confidentiality.
- Assist with managing requests for access to records.
- Administer and maintain records management systems, including electronic document workflow systems (EDWS) and others.
- Provide training and education to staff on records management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in records management projects, including digitization initiatives and system upgrades.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of records management strategies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS (or Equiv) + 2-3 yrs OR Associate’s Degree in Information or Records Management, Business Administration, Library Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in records management.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local records management regulations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and records management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface with both internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Information or Records Management, Business Administration, Library Science, or a related field.
