What You'll Do
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Weapon Material Program Director, as well as their direct reports and support staff. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations and effective communication within our department, contributing directly to our mission responsibilities.
Performs normal office functions such as setting up and maintaining files; interviewing callers and making proper referrals; arranging meetings and conferences; and receiving, referring, or answering mail. Reviews drafts and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage; answers questions relating to office operations and established policies and procedures. Gathers, compiles and reports on information relevant to supervisor's assignment. May perform advanced, diversified, and confidential duties that may be administrative in nature or project based. Work may require broad and comprehensive experience and skills, and a thorough knowledge of organization policies and practices. Prepares correspondence, reports, presentations, etc. Job level classification is dependent upon the management level to which the incumbent reports and the duties associated with this job family and the designated level.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma with: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. (Typical administrative experience ranging from 7–10 years.)
- OR Associate Degree with: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements
- Advanced education is a plus.
- Proficiency with PeopleSoft, OneBuy, OfficeWise, and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Demonstrated experience with records filing and general office equipment.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent knowledge of general office procedures, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Working knowledge of technical language and terms specific to Pantex Operations.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
