What You'll Do
The Classification Analyst is responsible for implementing and maintaining the program requirements of the Pantex Classification Office concerning National Security Information and Restricted/Formerly Restricted Data programs, as well as the Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information program.
This position requires an intellectually curious multitasker with a demonstrated level of knowledge in subjects related to the Pantex mission such as weapons production, nuclear weapons design, program management, advanced information systems, or production operations, preferably gained within a nuclear security environment. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to handle issues directly related to key management systems at the plant level, and be capable of proactively assisting in the development and implementation of long-term strategies for security operations and classification guidance at the Pantex site. They will collaborate closely with other functional stakeholders to ensure the systems required for programmatic elements are working accordingly.
Major Duties Include
- Researches and authors local classification guidance
- Manages and updates a library of over 200 classification guides
- Develops and delivers awareness briefings to groups on a variety of classified subject areas
- Teaches training courses monthly
- Provides classification assistance to 700+ Derivative Classifiers at Pantex
- Collaborates with Design Agencies and Production Agencies on development of classification guidance
- Supports the Emergency Response Organization
- Collaborates with the Safeguards and Security division to provide comprehensive classification support
- Supports the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) review process

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 12 or more years of relevant experience

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
