Essential Job Duties
- Maintains accurate filing systems.
- Types reports, memos, form letters, and other material from notes, reference copy, and instructions.
- Answers telephone, takes messages, refers calls, and schedules appointments.
- Performs any combinations of non-routine duties such as checking calculations, tabulating and recording data collecting, sorting, classifying, assembling, and processing information from generally established sources.
- Operates and may maintain the service coordination for various office machines such as the calculator, copier, facsimile, typewriter, personal computer and printers.
- Maintains administrative databases involving time and attendance, ordering of office supplies, payroll coordination, budget, etc.
- Utilizes procurement systems as required.
- Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2).
- Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment. Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or others personal safety is jeopardized.
- Responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Department of Energy (DOE), Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
- DOE Order 426.2 requirements, if applicable to position.
- And all other duties as assigned.
Skills And Minimum Qualifications
- Correct punctuation, spelling, and grammatical usage of the types and uses of common office materials and machines.
- Must successfully complete a Clerical Assessment.
- Must meet initial employment requirements.
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with frequent interruptions.
- Proofs data for reasonableness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Must successfully complete a Self-Assessment.*

Education
- High School diploma with at least 2 years related work experience. After 1 year work experience at Pantex as a Sr. Clerk I, employee will be eligible to promote to a Sr. Clerk II position at their manager’s discretion

- Ability to keyboard
- Repetitive motion of the wrist/forearm

Requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Requires Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position. If the successful candidate is currently certified in the HRP, a review for HRP certification in the appropriate category will be performed by the hiring manager and the HRP Management Official, and the certification process in the appropriate category will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
