Job Description
The Hydrogen Isotope Science Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced analytical chemist to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, validating, and implementing analytical methods, with a strong focus on Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometry (ICP-MS) for elemental analysis, spectroscopic measurements (e.g. FTIR, Raman, etc.) and gas chromatography. This role requires in-depth understanding of analytical principles, hands-on experience with ICP-MS and spectroscopic techniques, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize and validate analytical methods
- Perform analysis of R&D samples, enduring data quality and integrity.
- Troubleshoot analytical issues and perform instrument maintenance and calibration, as permissible.
- Interpret and report analytical results accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including research scientists, engineers, and quality representatives, as needed.
- Stay current with the latest advancement in analytical techniques.
- Contribute to research proposals through writing, conceptualization, and/or technical reviews.
- Advanced communication skills involving complicated technical topics.
- Understands how their role relates to others on the team and the role of the team.
- Understands their discipline and good conceptualization of processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong technical publication record.
- Works safely with particular attention to quality.
- Complies with all policies and standards. Maintain appropriate level government security clearance.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with various analytical instrumentation, including ICP-MS and FTIR.
- Experience with data processing
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is legally required.
