Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to support the Weapons Production Technology Directorate’s Advanced Engineering Division with an array of logistical tasks that include;
- Assembling of custom equipment
- Coordinating the purchasing and management of chemicals, precious materials, and other items
- Organizing and planning of fabrication and assembly tasks
- Performing material handling activities (forklift, hand truck, overhead crane, etc.)
- Equipment and component deliveries between SRNL facilities and other areas on Savannah River Site
- Assisting with shipping materials off-site
- Setting up offices (desks and computers) for new hires
- Assisting in managing requests for computers for the division; and supporting other ancillary activities, duties, and taskings as needed by the division.
- The candidate will need to have an excellent mechanical aptitude, excellent communication and organization skills, and relevant experience in deliberate work planning.
- The candidate will also need to have proficient computer skills (MS Office).
Responsibilities
- Develop methodical work plans and schedules for completing assignments
- Work with engineering personnel to understand schedules and priorities
- Track status of material orders and deliveries
- Manage requests and track overall status
- Provide weekly updates to scheduler to incorporate into overall project schedules
- Deliver completed components to requestor or arrange for pick-up/delivery
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years’ experience in work planning/logistics
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
