Maintenance Mechanic to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform corrective and preventative maintenance on diesel and electric mobile equipment, hoisting equipment, mining equipment, and waste handling equipment at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Candidate will be required to attain and maintain the qualifications and training necessary to perform field maintenance, follow all safety procedures, regulations and policies, and promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management. Must maintain qualifications and training to perform assigned duties and must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to qualify and work in a respirator in contaminated areas.

- High School graduate or Equivalency is required.
- Four (4) years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial or industrial environment or four (4) years of industrial maintenance training/education is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Filled with SIMCO USW membership first, according to CBA, before other candidate considerations .
Preferred Qualifications
- Mining and diesel mechanic experience preferred.
Pay Rate is $37.74 per hour
