Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Back Shift Vendor Project Manager (VPM) to join our team in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will report to the CCP LANL Project Manager to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of CCP scope of work at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, NM. Candidate will obtain qualification as CCP Vendor Project Manager and will interface with working groups and customers from outside organizations as needed to complete the work scope. Will provide oversight of CCP operations personnel; provide Conduct of Operations leadership and expertise. Provide direction to assigned personnel regarding execution of work scope. Coordinate and supervise CCP equipment deployment, demobilization and maintenance activities. Perform management observations, develop lessons learned and task specific briefings as necessary. Mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional development.
This is a Backshift position and will work a 4/10 schedule from 10am - 8:30pm.
Exempt Grade Level(s) (30-33)

- Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience, or
- Associate's degree with six (6) years of relevant experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with ten (10) years of relevant experience is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “Q” Clearance.
- Five (5) years experience executing work in a DOE nuclear facility is mandatory.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Current DOE Q Clearance, Human Reliability Program Certified is a plus.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of CCP TRU Waste Characterization activities and equipment is desired.
- Preference given to candidates with one year of experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Have or the ability to qualify as CCP Visual Examination Expert.
- Previous WIPP Project or CCP experience is a plus.

Minimum salary $78,719 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
