Instrumentation and Control Technician - Trainee to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM
The Instrumentation and Control Technician - Trainee will have the capability to perform a wide variety of tasks requiring experience and knowledge of Electronics, Calibration, Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) principles. Follow all safety procedures, regulations and policies. Conduct frequent inspections of work area to ensure that safe working conditions are maintained. Promptly report any hazards or unsafe conditions to management. Demonstrated experience or documented training that includes planning, layout, installation, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electronics, pneumatics, Instrumentation and Controls Systems, and Fire Alarm System Maintenance. Knowledge of radiation detection principles is preferred. Successful candidate will be required to complete specified qualifications within one year from date of employment. Successful candidate will be also be required to be Radiological Worker, Powered Assisted Particulate Respirator (PAPR) qualified, and Underground qualified.
This is a USW Bargaining Unit Position
Pay Rate is $37.74 per hour
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency is required
- Three (3) years of relevant Electronics and Pneumatics or Instrumentation and Controls.
- Completion of ITTP or equivalent I&C training will meet the three years of experience.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
