Essential Job Duties
- Performs a variety of duties in a specific field assisting technical and scientific personnel in projects involving data collection and evaluation from established procedures.
- Performs duties as assigned within the work area to ensure proper housekeeping incidental to care and protection of equipment, records, and procedures.
- May assist in the development of new test procedures.
- Follows prescribed safety and security procedures.
- Maintains equipment and records as directed by sound laboratory practices and line management.
- Maintains assigned work area in a safe and clean condition.
- Performs work with a high degree of accuracy in all cases.
- Requires the ability to logically explain steps in analytical functions.
- Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations, Labor Agreements and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2), and Management.
- Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
- Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized.
- Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment.
Skills And Minimum Qualifications

- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.
- Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.
- Must meet specific educational requirements.

Education
- Associate degree in an Electronic related Engineering or Engineering Technology field.
- 3 credit hours of Computer classes

Personnel entering positions and performing duties, identified by management as, falling under the requirements of DOE O 426.2, must meet certain minimum education and experience requirements as provided in the Order. Refer to the current DOE O 426.2 Position Matrix for guidance.
Technicians - (i.e., 1 year job-related experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).

Requires a Q clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Requires Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification. If the successful candidate is not currently certified in the HRP, the certification process will be initiated upon assumption of the position.
