Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will conduct Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control reviews, audits, and associated activities. Review and approve various work package documents to ensure quality needs are addressed from both a programmatic, as well as a Quality Control standpoint. Provide input for quality inspection criteria for nuclear items to be fabricated, procured, modified, used, or maintained for the site. Conduct independent oversight of SIMCO quality affecting activities associated with waste receipts. Will be required to qualify as a Lead Auditor for the SIMCO Assessment Program. Will be required to develop checklists, assessment plans and reports. Prepare quality oversight plans associated with design, procurement, fabrication, and construction of either items or facilities (i.e., purchase requisitions, work packages, and procedures).
Exempt Grade Levels (28-33)

- Bachelor’s degree in a science or technical related field, or
- Associate's degree with four (4) years of related experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of related experience is required.
Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity with the "hands on" working of a QA program as defined in 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 830, Subpart A and American Society of Mechanical Engineers/Nuclear Quality Assurance-1.
- Familiarity with nuclear construction standards and processes.
- Excellent technical writing skills to develop technical reports to define QA positions.
- Previous experience working with nuclear facility construction projects, including a welding background.
- Strong auditing/assessment background in the nuclear industry.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
