Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO) managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Staff Specialist - CFO to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
The successful candidate will provide overall business support areas for the SIMCO Project Chief Financial Office. Activities will include tracking incoming funding by Project Breakdown Structure (PBS) as provided from the Department of Energy.
- Update the funding projection report to include termination costs for Capital Projects. Items to report are Achievements, Key Metrics, Issues/Concerns, Schedule Discussion/Status and Critical Path Analysis. This provides a snapshot of funding, costs, commitments and remaining balances for PBS for the reporting period.
- Input data into the Corporate system (i.e., Bechtel) to track spending of non-reimbursable expenses, including setting up of vendors to be paid, entering invoices and recording journal entries for contract costs to date and fee invoiced by SIMCO to Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO).
- Control Account Manager duties for direct and indirect accounts, such as Procurement, Accounting, Human Resources, IT, Property Management and the Warehouse. Finalize budgets, provide support in justifying budgets, monitor spending and assist in estimates to complete.
- Process invoices for Carlsbad Field Office including apartments, supplies and any materials requested such as computers.
- Oversee various activities within the Skeen Whitlock Building (SWB) such as the gym, walkdown of equipment, lockers, and showers. Assist with issues within the SWB, report them to CBFO, and assist with coordinating with the site Plant Helpers for priorities and time estimates for repairs of all in-town facilities.

- Master's degree with eight (8) years of professional experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) years of professional experience, or
- Associate's degree with fourteen (14) years of professional experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eighteen (18) years of professional experience is required.
- Fundamental knowledge of planning and control principles and techniques.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Minimum salary $94,706 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
