What You'll Do
The Project Manager position is responsible for various Project Management duties including acting for Project Managers when required, leading work/process improvement initiatives, and management of smaller, lower risk projects. This position will primarily be matrixed to various Project Managers but will have responsibility for execution of smaller project scope. Project value could range between $1M and $5M and will require coordinating with/providing direction to Pantex support organizations and subcontractors.
This position is an entry level Project Manager position designed to provide the individual with the requisite skills to manage small construction projects at Pantex and position them to move into a more senior Project Management role.
Responsibilities Include
- Providing support and backup for one or more Project Managers in the small projects’ organization.
- Full execution responsibility for a small, low risk project.
- May be required to act on behalf of a Project Manager if coverage needs arise.
- Development of schedules and estimates in support of new or existing projects.
- Coordinating submittal and document flow between the various project teams and subcontractors using Project Document Management Software (PDMS).
- Coordinates with Projects, Engineering, Procurement and suppliers to ensure workflows are accurately implemented in the Project Document Management Software.
- Identifies PDMS software needs and bugs and coordinates their resolution with the software developer.
- May design processes to enhance work flow.
- Complete other duties as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- OR Master’s Degree.

- Associate or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR 10 years or more of relevant experience.
- Requires a broad working knowledge of departmental and company policies and practices.
- Requires ability to perform efficiently in a diverse fast-paced environment.
- Requires expertise in Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP), Microsoft Suite (MS) Office, SharePoint, Peoplesoft, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.
- Experience working in the Project Management organization at Pantex or other NNSA site.
- Familiarity with Project Management tools such as Primavera, MS Project.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills, thorough working knowledge of MS Office.
- Understanding of Project process in multi-discipline Project operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Project processes with ability to work in team environment.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709. Medical requirements may apply.
