Overview:
We are seeking a Machine Control Account Manager (CAM) who will work with project staff to consistently deliver enrichment hardware of exceptional quality in support of national security and medical isotope missions by driving the development of advanced manufacturing capabilities required to deploy cutting-edge enrichment technologies at scale. This position requires strong understanding of manufacturing processes, configuration management principles, quality assurance, project management fundamentals, and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) related system modules and how they provide an industry-focused solution to organization requirements. This position resides in the Production Control in the Enrichment Systems Fabrication and Demonstration (ESFD) section within the Enrichment Science and Engineering (ESED) Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). This position is located on-site at our facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for machine deployment activities and responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Development of detailed schedules and cost estimates for work packages and planning packages
- Oversight and ownership of project financials within machine deployment
- Independently generate and manage project metrics to highlight completion of project milestones versus schedules
- Interface with Project Management Office (PMO) to mature planning, scheduling, and execution processes and tasks
- Support Department of Energy (DOE) project sponsors to ensure deployment aligns with the overall mission strategies
- Provide input into division manufacturing systems and assist in generation of prioritization processes

- Serve as the lead point of contact for machine deployment activities within the project deliverable scope.
- Assist Production Control Group with process improvement initiatives to create streamlined workflows.
- Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Basic Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, related field or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a planner/scheduler role working for direct manufacturing, project management, or equivalent demonstrated functions
- Demonstrated experience working in project management space or similar team management activities
- Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
- Self-motivated and directed with attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience communicating/briefing leadership personnel, support staff, and customers to maintain a sustainable working relationship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Q Clearance which requires US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP/ERP systems
- Experience with DOE Order 413.3B Projects
- Experience in a Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio) and other computer applications/programs
- Active or Ability to obtain a DOE Q Security Clearance
Special Requirements:
- Physical Requirements: Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after offer.
- Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Q clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
