University Student Programs within Institutional Partnerships develop the next generation of STEM problem solvers through internship programs, student employment experiences, and graduate research opportunities, engaging over 1,200 university students annually across 30 different programs.
We invite you to apply for the University Student Program Coordinator position. You will contribute to the development and facilitation of university student programs, including facilitating regional recruitment, building and leading professional development sessions, creating a positive culture through enrichment activities, and ensuring intern alumni stay engaged with Argonne post appointment.
This hybrid position requires on-site presence 2–3 days per week.
You will also:
Organize and manage undergraduate student programming, including meetings, events, professional development and enrichment activities.
Develop a brand new professional development program tailored to graduate students.
Build and sustain a positive culture focused on personal and professional growth for undergraduate and graduate students.
Support the development, execution, and delivery of innovative, forward-thinking programming aligned with Argonne’s mission-driven science initiatives.
Assist in the planning and execution of student recruitment activities, including launching electronic campaigns, attending career fairs and conferences, and participating in university visits. Track and report on recruitment efforts to assess their impact on increasing student participation.
Assist in overall program evaluation which includes collecting, analyzing, and reporting data; maintaining budgetary records related to program expenditures; and submitting an annual report to funders.
Collaborate with the University Student Operations Team to manage general online communications, including websites, social media, and email marketing.
Coordinate interactions between staff, students, and other program stakeholders.
Assist with the planning, coordination, and facilitation of educational workshops, summer camps, tours, and other student engagement activities to promote STEM learning and professional development.
Ensure compliance with deadlines and administrative requirements.
Provide support to other Institutional Partnerships teams as needed.
Perform duties as assigned to support the broader goals of the Institutional Partnerships division.
Position Requirements
PA2: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (in STEM, Education, or Higher Education Administration) and 2+ years of experience, or a Masters degree and 0+ years of experience , or equivalent.
Experience planning and facilitating STEM programming, including educational workshops, summer camps, tours and other student engagement activities, for undergraduate and graduate students.
Familiarity with professional development program design and content creation.
Experience in program curriculum development a plus.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and balance multiple stakeholders’ needs.
Experience in both student recruitment activities and program evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, cloud-based collaboration tools, online application platforms, and social media. AI literacy a plus but not required.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and manage multiple deadlines.
Willingness to travel and participate in evening and weekend programming as needed.

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $60,750.00 - $94,770.00.
