Job Title: EES Fire Lieutenant 18584
What You'll Do
Operates alarm room equipment and systems including fire alarm system, E-911 system, radio system, paging system, and other computer systems. Often requires working in a high-stress environment and may involve shift work.
Responsibilities To Include
- Receives and interprets alarms and emergency notifications and dispatches appropriate personnel in accordance with established site and department level policies/procedures.
- Must maintain the alarm room activities, including log-keeping and maintaining accurate records and reporting, in accordance with the Y-12 Conduction of Operations Manual.
- May respond to the emergency scene and perform as the communications officer or other fire officer position as directed.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma and 3 or more years of experience in emergency services.
- Must possess an active Advanced EMT license as well as Firefighter II certification from the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting or equivalent.
- Must be an active member of a fire department providing continuing training.
- Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver License; Class D with an F endorsement or ability to obtain one.
- Must meet the physical, medical, mask-fitting, and drug-screening requirements for firefighters.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy security clearance is required.
- Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA)
- Position may require participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, the candidate may be subject to completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Paramedic License and Hazardous Material Technician is preferred but not required.
- Experience in emergency service dispatch centers is preferred, with strong attention to detail and resource management skills.
- Experience in operation of Windows-based computer systems and familiarity with Microsoft Office products is preferred.
