What You'll Do
Job Duties
This position provides information/document management support for classified/unclassified organizational activities that include the handling of incoming/outgoing classifed mail, weapons procedures/drawings distributions and electronic files management, and documents and records conversion of different media types. This position will provide support as needed to Y-12 Mail Services, correspondence action tracking, forms, and other job duties as required. In addition, this position is responsible for the following:
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in regard to work processes.
- Multi-task and move easily between job tasks.
- Work closely and professionally with co-workers, site personnnel, and external customers.
- Follow and comply with established organizational, site, and enterprise procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Collect and analyze information.
- Create and maintain databases(s); create and maintain metrics.
- Handle and maintain classifed matter.
- Learn and demonstrate competency for different software packages as desired.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- OR Associate degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. This position requires flexibility and job competency in performing/supporting multiple job functions.
- Excellent and demonstrated skills in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and the internet.
- Ability to comprehend and work compliantly with site/organizational procedures and governmental regulatory requirements that relate to information security requirements, mail management, and documents and records management processes.
- Good oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to work closely and cooperatively with co-workers, site personnel, and external customers.
- Ability to gain a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Experience in utilizing specialized computing applications for managing configuration control and conversion of classified and unclassified documents and other media is highly desirable.
- Experience in utilizing an electronic records management system (i.e., Versatile) is desirable.
- Experience in establishing and successfully managing paper-based or electronic records systems, including a working knowledge of technical and non-technical documentation standards.
- Excellent skills in the use of MS Outlook, internet, and word processing, and experience with document conversion.
- Experience in utilizing specialized computing applications for managing configuration control of documents and other records.
- Experience in utilizing SAP is desirable.
- Ability to comprehend and understand site/organizational procedures that relate to project documents and records to ensure requirements are met.
- Good oral communication and interpersonal skills to work closely and cooperatively with groups in shared tasks that may have tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
