What You'll Do
Duties for the Physical Security Specialist job may include: planning, implementation, administration, and management of multiple Server operating systems to include Windows server, Linux server, and Open Virtual Memory System (VMS) server. Planning, implementation, administration, and management of Windows Server Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Naming Services, and Network Policy Server. Network planning, implementation, and troubleshooting to include software administration of Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS) and Cisco Nexus Operating System (NX-OS). Planning, implementation, administration, and management of the Security Video system. Management and administration of multiple security systems to include research and problem-solving of operational problems to improve system availability and system security.
Develops, reviews and maintains technical documentation, security systems configuration change control management, including compliance with Pantex document control. Monitors policies and standards with Department of Energey (DOE)/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/Pantex/Industry on Physical Security Systems.
The employee’s primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general business operations of the Company, and such primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment denoted as follows: having the authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices; carrying out major assignments related to the operation of the Company’s business; work that affects business operations of the Company to a major degree, and having the authority to commit the Company in matters having significant financial impact.
Independent judgment and discretion involves the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice, free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- OR PhD, no experience.
- OR Applicants with a high school diploma or equivalent may be considered on an exceptional basis with 12 or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related field) is preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of physical security principles and computer information systems.
- Ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of wide scope and complexity.
- Ability to present technical and operational information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word.
- Excellent PC skills required.
- Any of the following Certifications or Diplomas would be preferred: Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server, OpenVMS, Cisco, or other technical certifications.
