The Global Security Directorate is seeking a talented and enthusiastic intern to contribute towards key projects supporting the Department of Energy’s national security mission. Experience a work environment that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and partnership. The ideal candidate will be working toward an Associate’s degree with a focus in electrical, electronics, power, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Provide electrical technical support to mobile nuclear facilities, to include wiring, troubleshooting, building components
- Follow all safety and security protocols
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Working toward an Associate’s degree with a focus in electrical, electronics, power, or a related field
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate and contribute to a team of engineers, technicians, metallurgists, project managers, technicians, and other support staff
- Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong initiative
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum age of 18
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience as an electrical technician

The Global Security Directorate (GSD) of SRNL provides a team focused on staff development and infrastructure upgrades for nuclear reprocessing science and technology programs at SRNL. GSD is growing its support of its critical NNSA nonproliferation portfolios and is building its teams to support these enduring programs. GSD is looking for people who can use their talents and experience to help build state of the art business programs as SRNL continues to use it diverse creative staff to deliver the highest quality programs to its customer.
