Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an Engineering Support Specialist to support the Advanced Manufacturing Group with organizing and planning of large fabrication requests. This will include working with engineering to determine schedule and priority, tracking status of material orders and delivery, managing fabrication requests, providing status to engineering customers, and delivering completed components. The candidate will need to have a working knowledge of fabrication practices, good mechanical aptitude, excellent communication and organization skills, and experience with the planning of complex tasks. The candidate will also need to have basic computer skills (MS Office) and the ability to learn a manufacturing ERP software specifically for fabrication management.
Responsibilities
- Develop work plan and schedule for completing large fabrication requests which include many individual components
- Work with engineering to understand schedule and priority
- Track status of material orders and delivery as it impacts each component
- Manage fabrication requests and track overall status
- Provide weekly updates to scheduler to incorporate into overall project schedules
- Provide status to engineering customers
- Deliver completed components to requestor or arrange for pick-up/delivery
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS (or Equiv) and 10+ years' experience in work planning
- Associates Degree in a technical field (Machine Tool Technology preferred) and 5+ years’ experience in work planning/logistics
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
- Excellent organization skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic computer skills (MS Office)
