Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a highly organized and proactive Research Support Specialist to join our team at our new Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative (AMC) facility – Advanced Manufacturing Collaborative - Savannah River National Laboratory . In this role, you will provide vital support to multiple research organizations by efficiently managing a variety of tasks, ensuring that our research operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate is adept at multitasking, prioritizing competing demands, and communicating effectively with management, research staff, and support teams. This position will report to the AMC operations manager.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized system for the procurement, receipt, and inventory of chemicals.
- Serve as the primary contact for facilitating shipments to include completion of electronic shipping orders and the transportation of material to include hazardous material.
- Support day-to-day work being conducted in research spaces.
- Perform Measuring & Testing Equipment (M&TE) custodian duties.
- Manage the precious metals inventory.
- Requisition procurements for general lab supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS (or Equiv) + 3-5 yrs of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
- Must be able to lift 20lbs on a daily basis
- Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a science or relevant field.
