Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory’s (SRNL) Global Security Directorate (GSD) is seeking a highly motivated individual to support its Advanced Technology Proving Ground (ATPG) as an Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Engineer. SRNL is developing the ATPG as a national capability to support technology development, testing, training, and evaluation activities for a wide variety of state and federal sponsors and national security missions using state-of-the-art capabilities and legacy infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to the SRNL Radio Frequency (RF) Spectrum Manager with evaluation of test plans, RF spectrum management, and coordination with DOE-SR personnel.
- Contribute to R&D proposals and sponsor activities involving EMSO, CEMA, UxS, and cUAS.
- Perform hands-on work in a field environment including equipment inventories and general operations support.
- Draft high-quality presentations for senior lab leaders and key stakeholders, and formal procedures that can be implemented across the ATPG.
- Maintain cognizance of sponsor needs, organization, personnel, missions, project execution and requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Technical certification from a military MOS/NEC/AFSC producing school in electromagnetic warfare with 8 years of experience providing EW technical support or similar technical disciplines to DoD, NTIA, DHS, or DOE.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 4-6 years of experience, Master's degree and 3-5 years, or PhD and 2-4 years of relevant experience are also accepted.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to draft high-quality presentations and formal procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience participating in Research, Development and/or Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) projects and teams involving EMSO, CEMA, or EMP technology.
- Experience with Group 1, Group 2, and Group 3 UAS operations.
- Strong experience working with DoD organizations during the planning and conduct of field training exercises and tabletop exercises.
- Demonstrates potential to grow into a technical leader/principal investigator in the EW field.
