Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a
Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.
This position is for a Quality Assurance Engineer at the Hanford Site for the Central Characterization Program. Successful candidate will be responsible for performing Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering functions including, but not limited to, Quality Assurance (QA) review/approval and disposition of nonconformance reports. QA review of procurement documents, procedures, and other work control documents for compliance with the applicable quality program requirements. Assist in the maintenance of the technical, administrative, and programmatic documents related to the implementation of a NQA-1/10CFR830 compliant program. Additional duties will include planning, performing and documenting surveillance/audit activities for assigned areas. Support of Trend Analysis efforts. Applicant will qualify to conduct receipt inspections at remote generator sites. Potential travel to participate in generator site/project office assessments requiring travel to Idaho National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Ability to write clear and organized reports and other documents that effectively communicate ideas, problems, solutions, and status of projects.

- Bachelor’s degree, or
- Associate's degree with four (4) years of work experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of work experience is required.
- Must have strong interface skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Strong oral and written communications, strong audit/surveillance skills including prior NQA-1 Lead.
- Auditor Certification, or American Society for quality certification is preferred.
- Experience with Software QA is a plus.
- Current DOE Q Clearance, Human Reliability Program Certified is a plus.

Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
