As the Manager of the 200W Engineering and Technical Support group, you will lead a multidisciplined group of engineers to provide the engineering to support the 200W Area Waste Projects and Operations facilities and projects that maximize risk reduction at Hanford by safely managing legacy nuclear waste, facilities and groundwater.
Primary Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Collaborate with CWC/WRAP/LLBG/T-Plant/ERDF/IDF Engineering Managers as well as project management team in defining the engineering elements of the project baseline including scope, schedule and budget.
- Establish engineering delivery strategies that spans from conceptual design and engagement of the supply chain, to final system testing, turnover and maintenance.
- Ensure complete identification and satisfaction of requirements while implementing a practical, graded approach to provide compliant, safe and cost-effective engineering.
- Ensure proper identification and implementation of engineering processes, procedures, standards and codes of practice to be used for the delivery of engineering work.
- Effectively lead the 30-person Waste Projects and Operations Engineering team Promote a positive, safety-conscious, and collaborative work environment including supporting relationships with the customer, regulatory agencies, and oversight organizations.
- Ensure that robust Design Authority (DA) and System Engineer assignments are established, maintained and supported in their role to support facility operations and project success.
- Ensure that assigned staff are suitably qualified and experienced.
- In conjunction with projects and operations, generate periodic forecasts of the in-house and external support organization resources required to meet project needs.
- Implement ISMS, VPP, HPI and EMS responsibilities within area of responsibility.
- Proactively liaise with the Chief Engineer, other engineering managers, and supply chain organizations to match resource requirements with availability.
- Interface with the DOE counterparts including Facility Representatives to ensure appropriate and timely communication of issues, status, corrective actions, and engineering activities.
Basic Qualifications
- Manager Grade 22 - Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus 12 years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
- Manager Grade 23 - Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in the nuclear industry.
- Two (2) years of experience in a multi-discipline engineering management capacity.
- Working knowledge of the codes, principles, practices and techniques in the field of nuclear facility engineering, including relevant DOE orders and directives.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
- Grade 22: $159,363 - $209,688.
- Grade 23: $183,300 - $241,300.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
