What You'll Do
Global Security and Strategic Partnerships (GSSP) is a rapidly growing organization at Pantex that supports all NNSA and Other Government Agency needs for national security, nonproliferation, and monitoring and verification Research and Development (R&D) work beyond the main production mission at Pantex. To accomplish this, GSSP leverages the unique capabilities and expertise existing at Pantex to provide information, products, and human capital to Federal stakeholders. The GSSP team is a diverse group of technical experts that have advanced degrees in science, engineering, and business development which lead a broad portfolio of projects that have global impact.
As a Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (DNN/NA-20) Technical Program Manager, you will have a high level of ownership of NNSA DNN programs and projects, especially in the areas of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation Research and Development (NA-22) and Nonproliferation and Arms Control (NA-24). This position will also support the Pantex NA-20 Program leads, providing as-needed support to the overall NA-20 portfolio. While there are opportunities to support a broad range of nonproliferation missions, the desired candidate will primarily work with the Non Proliferation and Arms Control (NPAC) team members and collaborators on Proliferation Detection and Nuclear Verification projects. This position reports to the Pantex Global Security and Strategic Partnerships (GSSP) Director.
The NA-20 Technical Program Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Strategic planning for Pantex’s overall support and continued growth in the DNN portfolio
- Developing innovative research proposals, statements of work, cost estimates, contracts, and work requests, and obtaining budgetary funding for projects
- Executing technical proposals and documenting the results as needed, either as a technical lead of a development team or as an individual contributor
- Formulating, organizing, and monitoring projects that cross multiple disciplines and include coordination with a production facility
- Developing, evaluating, and mitigating programmatic risk while maintaining personal accountability for program execution
- Regularly interfacing with federal stakeholders to ensure that projects are planned and executed within cost and schedule parameters
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- OR Master’s degree and a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience
- OR PhD.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 10 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

- Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking to inform stakeholders, potential customers, site managers, or other senior leaders on technical project details.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709. Medical requirements may apply.
