What You'll Do
The Senior Advisor to the Pantex (PXD) Mission Assurance Officer is a key role focusing on operational coordination and strategic support. The Mission Assurance organization provides Pantex and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) with support for Pantex and its missions. This position reports to the Mission Assurance Officer, and Senior Executive Officer (XO), to the Office of the President.
As the Senior Advisor you will coordinate with the Mission Assurance Officer to execute plans to achieve mission and business milestones. This position is an integral contributor to planning for future expansion and growth with a focus on Organizational Development and Continuous Improvement. You will resolve complex, diverse, and organizationally impactful problems by selecting optimal solutions from a range of known possibilities or developing original solutions. You will serve as Action Officer, when needed, to address emerging issues and coordinate across specialties and staff to facilitate timely resolution. Additionally, you will provide temporary assistance to tiered organizations as necessary. This opportunity could be a developmental stepping stone for a leader with future growth potential.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Leadership Alignment
- Specialty Integration: Align and integrate multi-disciplinary teams, staff, and functional areas to drive strategic execution in support of Pantex and Nuclear Security Enterprise mission objectives
- Strategic Support: Assist in managing and executing the Pantex Strategic Agenda to guarantee the successful achievement of organizational milestones
- Leadership Engagement: Engage regularly with Level 1 executives to coordinate efforts and foster seamless alignment across departments
- Executive Deliverables: Contribute to the creation and review of board materials, presentations, and recurring performance reports
Project & Initiative Management
- Project Execution: Direct high-priority projects for Mission Assurance and the Office of the President, exercising sound judgment to resolve complex stakeholder needs
- Project Oversight: Oversee program and process enhancements from conceptualization to delivery, serving as the central point of contact for execution
- Initiative Coordination: Lead change management and process optimization efforts to foster organizational growth, utilizing professional expertise to ensure all initiatives align with strategic targets
Operational Execution & Controls
- Document Control & Reporting: Manage the preparation, review, and organization of key documents, presentations, schedules, and monthly status reports
- Action Tracking: Collaborate with leadership to track the timely completion of action items, establishing and executing recovery plans when milestones are missed
- Issue Resolution: Mobilize personnel to address and resolve complex operational challenges while participating in pivotal meetings regarding organizational priorities
Risk & Metrics Analysis
- Risk Coordination: Evaluate and coordinate institutional risk management activities, providing leadership with actionable mitigation strategies
- Metric Analysis: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify performance variances and highlight strategic trends
Stakeholder & Customer Relations
- Stakeholder Interface: Facilitate communication between technical project leads and clients regarding statements of work, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies
- Customer Interaction: Partner directly with stakeholders to align expectations and finalize deliverables for program and process improvements

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience
- Master's degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- PhD: Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 17 years of completed education and/or relevant experience

Preferred Job Requirements
- Degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline
- Demonstrates competence performing support at the executive level of a technical or operations organization
- Experience in a highly regulated, high consequence production industry such as nuclear reactor, nuclear weapon or aerospace
- Demonstrated process improvement from ideation to remedy implementation
- Reviews new idea proposals for new capability and/or expanding existing capabilities, and future scope capabilities geared toward organizational goals
- Uses data analytics, including database management, modeling, statistics, to monitor and control program performance
