Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence Group is seeking a Data Analyst II to join their team. This position will support the Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP) generation of PowerBI Dashboards that will enable data-driven decisions and efficient work-flow management primarily supporting the Engineering Integration Team. Key responsibilities will include developing PowerBI Dashboards, identifying and leading data improvement initiatives, supporting the analytic center of excellence. This role requires strong knowledge in data mining, data modeling, data validation, data analysis, and data visualization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop PowerBI dashboards and help implement creative data solutions for key stakeholders.
- Take ownership of technical problems and see them through to resolution.
- Consult and help develop data integration strategies.
- Spearhead Business Intelligence initiatives and automate workflows.
- Prepare time and cost estimates for dashboard development, maintenance, and modification tasks.
- Review and analyze data and dashboards to determine the feasibility of design change requests, recommendations and refinements.
- Write SQL queries to perform data mining, testing and validation utilizing PL/SQL and MySQL or equivalent.
- Analyze existing test methods to determine the feasibility of design change requests, recommendations and refinements.
- Coordinate or develop and implement plans for data validation tests between multiple databases and PowerBI Dashboards.
- Analyze user requirements, devises solutions, and prepares external specification documentation.
- Design and document systems software by preparing diagrams, logic charts and internal specification documentation.
- Write code from internal specifications documentation, prepare test plans and tests data.
- Participate in the development of written reports, oral presentations of studies, and demonstrations concerning PowerBI Dashboards and database systems specifications and design.
- Identify potential problems or requirements for expanded capabilities and spearhead innovative solutions.
- May devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems.
- May plan and coordinate data-related activities, including:
- Coordinating requests for access to data.
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing data administration standards regarding validation, integrity, storage, and security of data; internal object naming conventions, and data access methods.
- Resolving issues associated with data administration.
Qualifications
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures in data analytics or database administration.
- Experience developing and managing dashboards in BI tools with PowerBI Service (Cloud) is preferred.
- Ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Strong skills in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
- Experience with SQL for querying databases preferred
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL / ELT processes, and data visualization best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to foster stakeholder relationships and program success.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with a willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in DOE or previous construction / engineering environments is preferred.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘Identity, Credential, and Access Management,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.’

Annual salary range for this position is:
$76,752. - $115,128.00.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
