What You'll Do
As an Inventory Analyst (Planning & Control Support), you will be responsible for optimizing inventory levels to support General Stores operational requirements while ensuring alignment with inventory accuracy and control processes. This role primarily focuses on inventory planning, including replenishment, forecasting alignment, and policy management for General Stores items, while also supporting inventory control activities to ensure data integrity and operational effectiveness. This position operates within the Material Flow Management function and is critical to ensuring that supply consistently meets both planned and unplanned demands, within an independent demand Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment. You will drive optimization in initial stocking and replenishment strategies, focusing on inventory reduction and lean practices. This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to operate effectively with minimal direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Manage inventory levels through proactive planning, scheduling, analysis, and forecasting.
- Leverage inventory management methodologies (reorder point, safety stock, and economic order quantity) to optimize inventory levels and drive efficient replenishment strategies.
- Execute and monitor replenishment activities to ensure timely material availability.
- Analyze usage trends, demand patterns, and lead times; adjust planning parameters accordingly.
- Align with demand forecasting to ensure appropriate inventory positioning.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
- Managing Shelf-Life Expiration Dates (SLED) for Stock Keeping Unit (SKU)s and reviewing SKU Identification (ID) transaction history.
- Support cycle count and physical inventory programs; assist in investigating inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze inventory data for trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Inventory Control, Receiving, Warehousing, and Procurement teams to proactively resolve material and data issues.
- Contribute to ERP system enhancements and future-state initiatives (e.g., Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing [SAP] transition) impacting inventory.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance inventory performance and material flow efficiency.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 9 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
- PhD: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 17 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

Preferred Job Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
- Knowledge of inventory management methodologies, replenishments, cycle counting, and statistical sampling techniques.
- Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Relevant Materials Management certifications (e.g., American Production and Inventory Control Society [APICS] Certified in Planning and Inventory Management [CPIM], Certified Supply Chain Professional [CSCP] )
- Supply Chain Management experience
