What You'll Do
The Projects Engineering organization within CNS Mission Engineering (ME) is responsible for execution of projects at the Y12 plant. The Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) within this organization acts as the technical liaison between ME and outside firms providing Architectural and Engineering (AE) design services and equipment. The candidate will interface with the CNS Procurement Organization, Vendors, AE firms, CNS Engineers, CNS Quality organization and the CNS Project Engineer. Tasks will include, but not be limited to writing statements of work, managing accruals and invoices, coordinating purchase requisitions, managing contract changes, setting up and leading meetings, and ensuring project milestone schedules and budget expectations are met.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ten or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting
Preferred Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited program with at least 2 years of related experience.
- Current or previous experience as a STR at Y-12, Pantex, or another DOE nuclear site
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience providing technical direction
- Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, engineering application of computers, and applications of engineering and construction methods and materials
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to various engineering disciplines
- Ability to read and/or interpret complex engineering drawings
- Ability to conduct formal presentations to plant personnel and other interested parties
- Ability to review projects for technical accuracy
