Job Title: MFG Material Controller 18882
What You'll Do
The Y-12 Material Controller position is responsible for performing the following functions:
- Dispatching materials to and from designated areas, ensuring DOT compliance is maintained for moves, and initiating waybills and other transportation related documents to accompany the materials ensuring safety and security requirements for the transport of the components, assemblies, and materials are met. Tracking and documenting weights of material before and after production operations are complete.
- Processing, preparing, and verifying all inbound and outbound shipment documents are complete, accurate, and meet compliance requirements.
- Inspecting materials before and after shipments to verify, inspect, identify, and tag materials according to shipment documentation.
- Tracking and communicating status of all shipments to the appropriate personnel.
- Supporting area operations in the oversight of loading and unloading activities and in the proper storage of materials upon receipt.
- Working with plant computer data systems (such as LIMS, SAP, ME, and DYMCAS) to obtain/resolve inventory discrepancies, correct errors, and document part movement and locations.
- Ensuring all shipment and transportation documentation is correctly filed and retrievable in accordance with procedures and specific guidelines provided.
- Working overtime and shift work may be required to support production schedules.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High School diploma and a minimum of one year of experience in manufacturing, shipping/receiving and/or inventory tracking. Must possess the ability to enter data and navigate various computer systems with minimal error or oversight.
- Must have the ability take direction easily and communicate the same direction to others. Must be able to work around sensitive and/or hazardous material.
- Position will require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). HRP must be granted and maintained. Candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709.

- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- Understanding weights and measures is a plus.
- Familiarity with inventory control, invoices, bill of ladings, packing lists, shipment/receipt documentation is preferred.
