What You'll Do
Duties
This position is responsible for the monitoring, configuration control, analysis, and reporting on programmatic scopes in support of Stockpile Programs, Infrastructure Programs, and Global Security and Strategic Partnership Programs. In addition, this role performs the following duties:
- Controls, directs, and expedites the flow of materials, parts, tooling, and assemblies through the manufacturing, inspection, testing, and certification processes
- Integrates production activities across organizational boundaries to ensure schedules are met and that issues are resolved
- Controls the flow of all certification documents and ensures the timely resolution of rejected parts and assemblies through the rework or deviation process
- Evaluates the production schedule status and attends Plan of the Day meetings to ensure accurate prioritization of production activities is communicated
- Ensures that manufacturing and quality areas understand due dates and status
- Recommends recovery actions as required to meet schedule commitments
- Highlights production issues to program management to ensure manufacturing goals are not jeopardized
- Works with Transportation Planners to ensure materials, parts, and assemblies are delivered to the shipping point in time to meet all planned shipments
- Utilizes the productivity improvement process or other improvement methodologies, such as flow diagrams, to identify and eliminate non-value-added steps
- Maintains programmatic and departmental performance metrics, monitors trends, and makes recommendations for improvements
