What You'll Do
As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for facilitating and participating in programs supporting architecture governance, guidelines, and strategy. Enterprise Architects work in partnership with business units to align the business unit goals to ensure IT is able to deliver, identify maturity gaps, and bring communication recommendations to IT and the business unit to ensure company and mission goals are met. Enterprise Architects may be responsible for leading multiple complex and high-priority projects while working closely with the engineering and project management teams to scope, estimate, and provide overall technical guidance for assigned solutions/opportunities. Analyzing existing systems and processes to communicate improvement opportunities, along with the change management needed to implement is paramount. Must be able to provide detailed documentation for implemented solutions and necessary knowledge base articles to allow for both operational and ongoing support.
EMPLOYEE CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create strategy/roadmap documents or drawings based on company and mission goals
- Make solution decisions and recommendations
- Demonstrate innovation when designing applications, architectures, and solving complex IT problems
- Provides roadmaps on future state architecture
- Translate multiple sources and compile to provide specific views of current state architecture and how those pieces interact with each business unit now and with future states
- Work with the IT project management organization to deliver solutions on schedule
- Track and document requirements for enterprise development projects
- Monitor current and future trends in technology which will positively affect organizational projects
- Act as the senior technical resource for organization projects and business units needing an IT Stakeholder or SME
- Work with other Enterprise Architects and engineers to develop solutions which align to organization and mission needs
- Responsible for working with IT project management organization to allocate assigned labor/budget resources to execute project tasks
- Work effectively as part of an architecture team providing technical guidance to the business
- Ability to interact with senior leadership and customers to promote current technologies and solutions
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related scientific major 2 years job-related, and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative). DOE 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. Preferred Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Enterprise platforms and services
- 3+ years of experience with TOGAF, Zachman, or other Enterprise Architecture frameworks
- 3+ years of experience in an architecture role
- Strong cyber security background preferred
- The candidate must also have the ability to present technical and operational information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word, solve complex technical problems, and be alert to changes that may affect the security and operational environment of systems.
Candidate must have in-depth, demonstrated technical experience in the following areas:
- Experience with Operational Technology (OT) networking design and implementations, SCADA, and IoT isolation
- Network segmentation utilizing Zero Trust ideology
- Networking (Cisco preferred)
- Experience with firewall design and implementation (Palo Alto preferred)
- Complex routing and switching design and implementation in large scale enterprise environments
- Experience with IDS/IPS
Candidate must also have the following:
- Progressive experience in technical and security roles
- Understanding of ITIL processes and experience implementing ITIL concepts
- Understanding of server technologies such as Windows, Unix/Linux, VMWare
