Job Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking an Senior Associate Systems Administrator to serve as a technical field support engineer. The selected candidate will serve as the first point of contact for organizational users concerning computer system issues. They will be required to manage a range of tasks to resolve technical issues for users in maintaining computer infrastructure and provide software assistance. The selected candidate will also be required to ensure proper documentation of all issues and logging necessary information into a ticketing system. Support will be provided on-site via deskside assistance.
Responsibilities
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems (desktop and server).
- Working knowledge of Office 365 products and other standard business software.
- Identifies, investigates, and resolves organizational users’ problems with computer software and hardware.
- Fields support calls, chat, email, and/or other communication from users with inquiries regarding software, network connectivity, printing, authentication, and other issues.
- Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID Directory Management, especially Users/Groups and Authentication.
- Responsible for deploying new PC’s and re-imaging installed computers and laptops.
- Responsible for assisting with VTC conference room hardware, software, configuration, and usage.
- Responsible for installing computer accessories and AV equipment.
- Ability to research problems to aid with troubleshooting user deskside errors.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience OR an Associates Degree with 8 years of relevant experience. 12 years of relevant experience will also be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Guides users through diagnostic and troubleshooting processes, which may include use of diagnostic tools and software and/or following verbal instructions.
- Collaborates with other staff to research and resolve problems.
- Demonstrate confidence, teamwork, promote collaboration, and communicate well with senior management, end users, and other customers.
- May be required to arrange service by software or hardware vendors to repair or replace defective products.
- Maintains knowledge of technology innovations and trends.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel up to and including senior executives.
- Basic knowledge of networking technology, system administration including servers and workstations.
- For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Mobile Device Management particularly Intune.
- Experience with Desktop Deployment Automation.
- Experience with scripting technologies (i.e., PowerShell).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
