Job Description
The Group Manager for the SRNL Radiological Engineering organization will be responsible for overseeing and implementing Radiological Engineering programs and initiatives. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship, and leading a team of professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Radiological Engineering programs, policies, and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Oversee and manage Radiological Engineering audits, inspections, and assessments to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to Radiological Engineering regulations and best practices.
- Lead and mentor a team of Radiological Engineering professionals, providing direction, support, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate Radiological Engineering considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.
- Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards, and communicate changes to the organization.
- Promote a culture of safety, sustainability, and health through proactive engagement and education initiatives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding Radiological Engineering matters.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of experience in Health Physics/Radiological Engineering or a Master's degree and 6+ years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Radiological Engineering regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans for Radiological Engineering programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Radiological Engineering management or serving in a lead role preferred.
- Active DOE Clearance
- Experience working in a National Laboratory
