What You'll Do
Summary: As a member of the Communications organization, leads or supports various web development projects. Designs, develops, configures, and maintains websites and subsequent content for the company’s internal and external web communications.
What You’ll Do
Primary duties include graphics and web site user interface design, development, security and testing of software using various products and technologies in a front-end web design and development role. Other duties, such as code optimization, business process analysis, architecture, design and system support. You will utilize critical thinking to help maintain production operations, system troubleshooting and problem analysis. You will be part of a collaborative team of highly skilled professions who embrace innovation and creativity. You will be working to scope, estimate, and provide overall technical leadership to develop and implement high quality software solutions that are section 508 compliant and adhere to company branding standards.
- Develop front-end code for a variety of web-based applications in unclassified environments.
- Work with backend developers to integrate frontend components with server-side logic and Application Programming Interfaces (API).
- Develop and implement custom logging for web analytics.
- Implement and maintain robust testing strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of frontend components.
- Maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in a development and Information Technology operations (DevOps) environment.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Consult with customers on web requirements, adhere to company branding standards, and provide guidance in design and development of new websites.
- Gather, analyze, and organize content to ensure cohesive websites that communicate effectively with the intended audience using contemporary User Interface/ User Experience (UI/UX) design principles.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and accessibility standards.
- Work closely with functional and business team members, project management, enterprise architects, system engineers, and application developers to design and develop mission critical applications based on approved architecture and business requirements.
- Ensure cohesive website content that effectively communicates to the target audience using contemporary UI/UX design principles.
- Ensure solutions are well-engineered, optimized, operable, and maintainable while also ensuring adherence to defined project management policies, change management guidelines, cyber security requirements and software quality assurance processes.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline .
- OR Master 's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline .
- OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 8 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.

- Demonstrated skill in the application of web page design principles, communication methods and techniques, database administration, and content management solutions including Drupal, and SharePoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in collaborative and independent environments.
- Comfortable working with other developers and translating mockups into code.
- Expert in at least one modern JavaScript framework/library such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, typescript, and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).
- Expert using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) techniques & frameworks (CSS Grid, Flexbox, etc.).
- Expert utilizing JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) for front-end components and code.
- Expert consuming Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) from backend services.
- Knowledge of Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) or similar scripting language in regards to web development.
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Strong UI/UX design skills: design and maintain standardized web templates; wireframe with annotation of functionality; create style tiles and mood boards; develop functional prototypes; create interactive designs; source, edit, and color correct images while designing across multiple platforms; analyze and test usability.
- Knowledge of Adobe CC and design tools.
