What You'll Do
Organizes and supervises Emergency Services Dispatch Center (ESDC) and plant Fire Alarm Receiving System (FARS) activities under consultative direction toward predetermined goals and objectives. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure an effective ESDC operations. Responsible for supervising and assessing all ESDC operations. Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements and necessary unit training.
Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate and maintain daily records for the unit
- Monitor system operations and initiate repairs and maintenance as needed
- Developing work unit schedules and offering overtime as necessary
- Know and follow the Metal Trades Council collective bargaining agreement
- Know and implement the applicable codes and standards of NFPA
- Evaluate and implement necessary changes to operations, equipment and/or policies
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- OR 13 or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
DOE Order 426.2A Requirements
In addition to the above requirements, the applicant must also meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A ( i.e., High School diploma and 3 years of nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2A alternative ). DOE O 426.2A experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. Preferred Job Requirements
- Experience is Emergency Services or related field
- Emergency dispatch certification
- Understanding of the communications centers role in emergency events
- Previous emergency response experience
- Knowledge of Fire department and EMS operations
- Knowledge of alarm receiving systems, communications equipment and emergency service dispatch requirements
- Ability to use established policies and procedures to direct subordinate staff while assigning, scheduling and monitoring assigned work
- Ability to manage operations and task completion for department
- Ability to administer group and company policies
- Ability to supervise line level employees that could include more than one shift or work group, including other supervisors and possible entry level exempt staff
- Ability to teach within a team or across multiple groups and collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Ability to communicate and work closely with direct reports and peers at same level or higher
- Ability to ensure task are completed on schedule. Failure to do so may cause delays in program schedules
