Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities
The Enterprise Excellence team is looking for a creative thinker and effective business communicator (Senior Administrative Specialist) to design compelling and visually engaging digital and print materials that clearly communicate complex information across a variety of audiences. The position will work closely with the communication department, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to created branded content for internal and external use, including executive presentations, reports, infographics, event materials and other miscellaneous assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Generates presentations, reports, graphics, and other related materials for Executive Office use.
- Designs visually polished and professional PowerPoint presentations aligned with brand guidelines and communication standards and goals.
- Communicates with business stakeholders and leaders to develop persuasive presentations of company initiatives.
- Collaborates with marketing and communications staff to ensure consistency of messages for internal and external audiences.
- Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares content for consideration and presentation.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand content, audience, and tone for each project.
- Translates data, narratives, and complex concepts into clear, engaging infographics and visual assets.
- Edits and enhance existing visual content to improve clarity, consistency, and visual appeal.
- Creates and maintains a library of templates, icons, charts, and other reusable and editable visual assets.
- Maintains repositories of all completed Executive Office products, materials, and deliverables.
- Ensures quality control of products intended for Executive Office use and for publication in external or internal communications.
- Exercises discretion and judgment in performing work and assists with implementing improvements to existing processes.
- Stays current with design trends, tools, and visual communication best practices.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience and at least 5 years of professional level experience, which provided a thorough working knowledge of administrative policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
- Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Word).
- Experience creating professional PowerPoint templates and developing slide masters for use by others.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal tools and platforms.
- Excellent eye for typography, color, layout, and brand consistency.
- Ability to simplify complex information and data into meaningful insights and digestible visual formats.
- Demonstrates the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively in written form.
- Strong attention to detail and high standard for visual quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects simultaneously with varying timelines and priorities.
- Strong portfolio showcasing infographic design, slide design, and visual storytelling.
- Understanding of branding and marketing strategy.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a willingness to take initiative and fill gaps where processes, tools, or communications may be lacking.
- Efficiency-minded with a focus on finding streamlined solutions to produce high-quality work without sacrificing accuracy or impact.
- Capable of working with unfamiliar or technical subject matter (such as scientific or data-heavy content) and translating it into visuals and messaging that are clear, accurate, and accessible to a broader audience.
- Experience working for a government contractor or similar environment and the resultant restrictions to tool and feature availability that this entails, preferred.
- The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2 , “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709 , “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is:
$78,832.00 to $118,248.00.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
