Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Research & Development Technician to work in our Hydrogen Systems Assembly and Integration Group. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off. You will fabricate, assemble, calibrate, adjust, and test commercial and one-of-a-kind mechanical and electrical systems related to solid oxide hydrogen fuel cell testing. You will be responsible for building systems in accordance with INL policies and procedures and federal codes and standards. In this role you will report to the Hydrogen Coordination Manager. Responsibilities Include: - Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring work is performed safely, following laboratory policies, standards and procedures. - Perform assessments to ensure compliance to laboratory requirements. - Provide research support by procurement, assembly, set-up, troubleshooting and operation of research equipment and experiments. - Perform the operation and maintenance of bench, pilot, and full-scale research equipment designed to process and handle materials through chemical, mechanical, and thermal conditions. - Directly guide the implementation of new concepts and techniques concerning program assets and new capabilities. - Maintain records and logs of work activities and procedures. Compile and complete documentation of development and test processes. - Participate in equipment and test design reviews. - Participate in lab housekeeping activities and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
