Job Description
Facilities Operations is seeking a unit manager to join the Site Support Operations team. This is a new position created with the establishment of the Facilities Operations Subdivision. The unit is comprised of groups that support facilities operations across the Naval Reactors Facility, including Chemical Management, Boiler Operations, and Instrumentation and Controls Operations. The Site Support Operations Unit Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of supervisors, engineering technologists, and individual contributors including experienced employees who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.
- Effectively collaborate with other teams and external stakeholders to achieve mission objectives.
- Exercise leadership qualities to influence and enlist the support of direct reports in the accomplishment of the unit’s and the Laboratory’s goals.
- Administer and interpret policies, processes, and procedure that affect the work unit, with guidance from senior management.
- Ensure the correct and timely execution of technical and skill of the craft work.
- May serve as a member on one or more Company standing committees.
- Responsible for the professional development of direct reports.?
- Responsible for timely execution of unit’s budget and schedule.? Delegates work as appropriate.?
- Makes decisions which impact work unit operations.?
If required, the selected candidate must qualify as a contamination worker, NRF Facilities Operations Supervisor, Production Radiological Controls Supervisor, Lock Out Tag Out supervisor, Satellite Accumulation Area Operator, Confined Space and Excavation supervisor and any other environmental or safety qualification deemed necessary. Must be able to maintain qualification as a radiation worker.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Equivalent combination of relevant experience, education or training equaling 4 years may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

Pay Range
$114,400.00 - $178,800.00 annually
