Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Security Systems Technician to work in our Physical Security Systems department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Central Facilities and Materials and Fuels Complex with every Friday off. You will perform preventative maintenance (PM) work orders (WO), corrective maintenance WO’s, and modification installation WO’s for complex electronic intrusion detection, video assessment, access control, and other security equipment related work. You will report directly to the manager of the Physical Security Systems department. Responsibilities Include: - Actively participate in INL briefings and post job reviews. - Ensure that only approved supplies, parts, and materials are used per the work package. Identify needed spare parts for PSS equipment. - Implement Physical Security Systems (PSS) equipment labeling practices following company and PSS procedures. - Comply with company standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. Identify potential hazards or unsafe conditions, which may include exercising “Stop Work Authority.” - Ensure that PSS drawings are maintained in an as-built condition by verifying that the actual physical configuration is depicted accurately on drawings. - Write work orders per INL work control for the team. - Conduct and document routine self-assessments. - Provide technical input and recommendations to co-workers, customers, management, engineering, and management relating to security equipment requirements and applications detailed in Safeguards and Security Program documents. - Ensure that only Materials and Test Equipment (M&TE) with current and reliable calibration is used, when needed; that MT&E used is of the proper type, range, accuracy, and tolerance to accomplish the function of determining conformance to specified requirements; and that M&TE is calibrated and controlled as required. - Complete and maintain training, required reading and qualifications specified for assigned tasks. - Train and mentor junior Technicians as directed.
