Job Description
Graduate fellow to work along slide program lead to systems for gathering, analyzing, and communicating program data to a variety of stakeholders. Excellent data management skills and communication skills are required for this position. Individual must have a degree from or seeking an advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics from a minority serving institution.
The Graduate Fellowship Program provides science and engineering students from Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) an opportunity to train in targeted technical areas of interest/need of the Office of Environmental Management (EM).
This position supports workforce development at SRNL by working on teams to establish processes and systems for gathering, analyzing, and communicating program data.
Responsibilities
The year-long, salaried fellowship will offer specialized training, leadership development, and professional networking. The fellowship stimulates the potential increase of minority students entering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers at the graduate level. Additionally, a graduate fellowship opportunity provides hands-on EM field experience that could lead to a potential career opportunity within the DOE Complex.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an attention to detail are highly desired.
Disciplines of interest: data science, computer science, computer engineering.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Have graduated from or enrolled in an MSI
- Must be eligible for security clearance for which US Citizenship is legally required.
- Enrolled in a graduate program at the time of application AND have a current cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Earned or working toward a STEM degree (undergraduate or graduate)
