Job Description

NNL is seeking a cybersecurity professional to join the Cybersecurity Program Management team in the Information Technology (IT) Department. The newest member of the team will have an important role in securing the world's best Navy by supporting cybersecurity risk analysis of changes to current information systems, guiding the development of new system security plans, assist in performing security control validation, and supporting development and maintenance of cybersecurity program processes.
Some roles and responsibilities include:
- Promote and encourage a collaborative culture toward continuously improving cybersecurity posture.
- Assist in analysis of planned system changes for cybersecurity risks, document conclusions reached and present findings to stakeholders.
- Guide system owners to develop security authorization packages that align with NIST guidelines and corporate standards.
- Assist in the development and execution assessment plans to determine the effectiveness of information system security control implementations.
- Assist in research, evaluation and recommendation of cybersecurity improvements to information systems and work practices by the development of assessment reports, change requests, briefings, and presentations.
- Assist in the development of cybersecurity processes based on United States Government directives and NIST guidance.
- Be accountable to own and complete work tasks in a timely manner; seek help when necessary.
- Be responsible and receptive to routine self-development using training materials provided by the company.
- Plan daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job expectations and management instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
- Maintain immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers; report unsafe conditions and/or practices to ensure they are corrected in a timely manner.
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field; or
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience explaining cybersecurity concepts and requirements to other stakeholders and understanding user needs.
- Understanding of IT and/or OT systems.
- Familiarity with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) approach, methods, and concepts.
- Familiarity with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management (FedRAMP) process.
- Demonstrated ability to learn continuously and develop working knowledge in new areas as needed.

Pay Range
$62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
