VALOR (Veteran Applied Laboratory Occupational Retraining) JROTC Program

We support discovery science experiments in Illinois and South Dakota and at locations around the world, including Canada, mountaintops in Arizona and Chile, and the South Pole.
The VALOR JROTC Program is a highly competitive, paid, six-week summer internship opportunity for Illinois JROTC high school juniors, seniors, and recent graduates. Interns provide routine technical support for area of assignment; typically, an experiment or support group. Tasks are accomplished under direction supervision of a Fermilab employee and in cooperation with project teams, scientists, engineers, and support personnel and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Eligibility:
- Enrollment in an Illinois high school JROTC program
- Illinois high school junior, senior, or recent high school graduate at time of application
- Eligible to work in the United States

Internship Details:

- Salary: $17.20 per hour (5 days/40 hour per week)
- Housing: No local/onsite housing available
