Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Quality Fuels Engineer to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC), in Idaho with every Friday off. Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position (Candidate should reside in Idaho or willing to relocate). You will report to the Manager of Nuclear Materials Acquisition. You will provide oversite of nuclear fuel fabrication at MFC and offsite vendors. Develop and implement nuclear quality assurance procedures, technical methods, control systems, protocols, and procedures to ensure quality standards are in place and product quality is achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities Include: - Conduct quality program reviews for applicable activities to assure adequate quality requirements are identified and incorporated. - Establish protocols for inspection basis and nonconformance conditions. - Provide technical expertise and assistance to program, facility management and personnel relative to quality compliance and implementation issues. Work with facility senior management on significant matters requiring coordination across organizations lines. - Provide solutions to resolve facility or program compliance issues. - Develop quality planning documents implementing BEA Quality Program engineering principles. Develop quality assurance inspection plans for Quality significant items and services to ensure compliance with design and procurement requirements. - Review and approve quality-related procurement actions to ensure appropriate implementation of Quality Program requirements. - Provide Quality Program expertise to assist assigned facility personnel in the development of new quality concepts for new structure, system, and component (SSC) design, development, procurement, and installation. - Provide input to subject matter experts and functional area managers to promote continuous improvement in INL Quality and related processes. - Work with internal and external customers to determine that needs are met. - Mentor facility personnel through subject matter expertise in the quality requirements for activities affecting quality in DOE Nuclear Facilities and Non-nuclear Facilities as identified by the Quality Assurance Plan. - Provide surveillance, auditing, and reporting services for a given facility or scope of work assignment to ensure facility management has clear visibility and the opportunity to manage organizational performance. - Ensure quality program compliance through the review and concurrence of Quality affecting documentation. - Maintain complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices required for delivering quality techniques and tools. - Maintain required training and proficiency per training plan. - Other duties as assigned.
