Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Sites (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsibilities
MSTS seeks a dedicated System Application Analyst II with a strong passion for security technology and system management, the Application Analyst II will oversee the administration and maintenance of enterprise applications to ensure optimal performance and security.
Responsibilities will encompass system administration, adhering to security policies, providing comprehensive user support, integrating new systems, and recommending improvements. Additionally, you will maintain thorough documentation, lead projects, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and manage risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the System Administrator for various alarm and access control systems, including Lenel and Honeywell EBI security systems.
- Administer and manage user access, ensuring the security and integrity of all systems.
- Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to alarm and access control systems. Performs IT administration tasks for operating systems, security systems, software systems and hardware components.
- Monitor the performance and security of systems to detect and respond to potential issues.
- Assist patching efforts and re-mediate cyber vulnerabilities within server systems per established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Performs daily operations using management tools to include security systems and appropriate access controls and ensure all systems are up to date.
- Maintain thorough and accurate system documentation, including configurations, processes, and user guides.
- Ensure all systems comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Assist in writing security plans, performing certification, and accreditation tests to validate security policies are in place.
- Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field or equivalent training and experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Lenel and Honeywell EBI systems is highly desired.
- Strong understanding of system updates, user access management, and technical support.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective support and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet business needs and keep stakeholders informed will be essential for success in this role.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment and work independently when necessary.
- Knowledge of security best practices and relevant regulations.
- Relevant certifications, such as Lenel Certified Professional or Honeywell Certifications, are a plus.
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as SQL, Lenel OnGuardScript is highly desired.
- Ability to manage increasing number of tasks.
- Ability to support multiple software applications or database platforms.
- Demonstrate good analytical/problem solving skills.
- Ability to solve design problems.
- Demonstrate technical trouble shooting skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle relational databases.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suites, including Excel and similar programs.
- The primary work location will be at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
- Work schedule for this position will be 4/10's, Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
- Personnel may be requested by leadership to work in excess of 40 hours per week due to projects, activities, and emergences; critical operational demands may occasionally require off-shift work.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2 , “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4 , “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709 , “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Hourly salary range for this position is:
$35.26 - $52.89.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
