ResponsibilitiesWorking within the Human Resources organization of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the Human Resources Strategic Partner 3 (HRSP) works in collaboration with other HRSPs and Directorate leadership teams and holds a key position at the intersection of HR and strategic business initiatives. You will partner with leaders on developing and executing the people strategy, with your mission being to empower leaders to effectively execute the people strategy, foster motivation, leadership, and engagement among employees while staying true to the core values that define our culture and drive our work forward. The primary responsibility for the Human Resources Strategic Partner 3 is contributing to people and workforce development and planning, organization and change leadership, and performance management through some operational or day-to-day tasks with a focus on building their strategic expertise in these and other areas. HRSPs must have a well-rounded HR background possessing a diverse set of skills and experiences across various HR domains, as you will collaborate closely with other HR functions to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to the needs of the Directorates you support to ensure alignment and synergy in delivering HR services that drive organizational success. Through strategic partnerships and relentless dedication, you'll shape the future of work at PNNL, driving excellence and innovation at every level.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, build, and nurture partnerships with leaders and employees
- Execute programs on organizational people initiatives to ensure that PNNL is building the employee experience based on PNNL’s culture
- Support talent management and workforce planning activities at the Directorate or Division level
- Coach and mentor others, listen effectively, and build rapport with a diverse workforce -- helping employees at all levels develop
- Ensure quality of HR service delivery through effective collaboration with the HR shared services and core HR teams
- Collaborate with others on the Talent Management team to deliver services in the areas of leadership development, team building, meeting design and facilitation, customized training, and succession planning
- Communicate complex concepts and difficult and/or sensitive information
- Solve complex problems by taking a new perspective on existing solutions
- Provide support for Directorate DE&I initiatives
- Use excellent written and verbal communication, leadership skills, and unquestioned integrity to support and influence Directorate teams
- Utilize people-related data analytics paired with analytical thinking, tools, and judgement to aid in decision making and identifying innovative solutions
- Working independently with minimal guidance
- May begin to lead teams or projects with limited resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity
- Identify and contribute to programs and processes across the PNNL HR team

This position will have the flexibility to be hybrid with ~60% on-site in Richland, WA.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA and 5 years of relevant experience -OR-
- MS/MA or higher and 3 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification
