Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Emergency Management Professional to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. You will provide complex technical expertise for coordination and implementation of the INL Emergency Management (EM) Program. Develop and implement EM strategic initiatives for emergency response programs as requested by management. Assist management to formalize strategies to identify hazards and safety reduce INL facility and site wide emergency events. You will report to Emergency Management Manager. Responsibilities Include: - Use the INL Emergency Plan and Emergency Management (EM) hazards assessments and emergency plan as a baseline, provide technical expertise/advise in assisting management to create strategies to identify hazards and safely avoid emergency events. - Work on solutions to a variety of technical problems related to EM observing established policy. - Ensure the INL EM program elements and associated products are maintained in compliance with federal regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) orders, and company procedures. - Coordinate emergency preparedness, planning, and response elements with other organization functions. - Advise managers on technical emergency planning, preparedness, and response issues. - Conduct and report on self-assessment of the EM program, elements, and facility. May participate in management and independent assessments. - Provide feedback for continuous improvement using established company lessons learned and issue management programs. - Be a member of the INL Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and participate in training, drills, and exercises and respond to actual emergency events. - Conduct and ensure consistent implementation of EM products such as training, drills, and exercises. Ensure accountability personnel for the facility are in place and trained. - Develop positive working relationships. - May act as a spokesperson for EM and communicate technical issues and matters to all levels of internal customers and leadership. - May work corrective actions to full closure. - May be the interface for EM with facility management. - May mentor junior staff. - Other duties as assigned.
