Overview:
The Fusion Energy Division (FED) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Partnership Program Specialist to provide support for ORNL partnerships with private sector companies, and the development of programs in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) space. The successful candidate will provide support for the Innovation Network for Fusion Energy (INFUSE) and Milestone-Based Fusion Development Programs, as well as other collaborations and consortia to assist in communications with the various program stakeholders: private companies, national laboratories and universities, and the DOE Office of Fusion Energy Sciences (FES). The successful candidate will also provide support for the FED proposal process for responses to funding opportunities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fusion Energy Division (FED) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Partnership Program Specialist:

Manages the preparation and timely delivery of programmatic materials directly funded by DOE. These deliverables consist of programmatic review documents, brochures, reports, and factual documents in particular for FES.

Assists in communication with program stakeholders, including private fusion companies, national laboratories, and universities.

Collects information from private company and other partner stakeholders, assisting with formal documentation, communication, and data tracking.

Manages meeting preparations, workshops, and other stakeholder communication events.

Work with FED Principal Investigators and researchers across ORNL to produce single and multiple scientific proposals for FES.

Ensures the timely preparation and submission of proposals, reports, and review documents, including checking all for proper inclusion of necessary elements, formatting, and other issues including mentoring administrative staff in proposal management and preparation.

Basic Qualifications:

A BS degree in communications, business, science, or engineering related field.

Minimum of 2 years related experience such as organizing meetings, workshops, events, and handling proposal reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Previous experience at a scientific organization, national laboratory or other research institution.

Some project management experience, particularly in terms of defining deliverables, managing conflicting schedules and requirements, and setting and meeting deadlines.

Firm grasp of standard business computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel; Adobe Acrobat).

Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory.

Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Ability to manage multiple projects.
